Biography Barbara Dudley

Barbara Dudley is an experienced hospital based lactation consultant and Mother/Baby RN. She earned her initial BA in Politics from Cedar Crest College in 1975 and a second degree, a BSN, from the University of New Hampshire in 1993.

Barbara certified as an IBCLC in 1997 and recertified as an IBCLC in 2007.

Her professional and clinical experiences include:

2 years teaching Prenatal Fitness Classes in Idaho
16 years as an ASPO/Lamaze certified childbirth educator teaching prepared childbirth education classes
2 years as a Mother/Baby RN in Portsmouth, N.H and in Silver Spring, Maryland.
5 years as a maternal/child home care RN and outpatient lactation consultant at Holy Cross Home Care/Hospice and Holy Cross Outpatient Lactation Center.
Hospital based lactation consultant at:

Shady Grove Adventist Hospital in Rockville, Md.
Sibley Memorial Hospital in NW Washington DC.
Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, Va.

Currently, Barbara and her husband, Noel, live in Virginia Beach, Va. where they enjoy the beach lifestyle. They have 2 adult daughters, Amelia and Elizabeth (Liz). In their spare time, they enjoy being on the beach, traveling, community service, reading and watching college basketball.

Barbara is available for speaking engagements and considers her areas of expertise to include the late pre-term infant, engorgement and mastitis and newborns with tongue-tie.
