The Lactation Consultant Training Program 
is an in-depth week-long training program in lactation and breastfeeding management that may be used to help prepare for the certification exam for Lactation Consultants or as a comprehensive up date for practicing Lactation Consultants.  

The Lactation Consultant Training Program is accredited by the International Lactation Education Accreditation Council (ILEAC) on behalf of ILCA.  

This program was first sponsored by Georgetown University Hospital and  affectionately known as "The Georgetown Course" was offered by Lactation Education Resources for 7 years.  In another phase of growth, the program is now moving to the Inova Learning Network.

This program does not offer certification at completion.  Participants are encouraged to seek certification from the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners who offer the certification by exam each July. This certification is acknowledged world wide and the exam is offered in many sites across the U.S. and abroad.
